About
JIMMY BALMER
From grade school through competing at the D1 collegiate level, Jimmy has devoted a tremendous part of his life to the sport of running.
He is a USATF-certified coach and also holds a certification in Vdot02. Jimmy constantly seeks to further his knowledge, so he consults with other coaches and attends various clinics throughout the year. He has coached countless athletes, from those training for their first race to seasoned veterans looking to regain their fitness and target new PRs.
Jimmy's coaching philosophy is "to get the most out of as little as possible" or, in other words, "train smarter, not harder." He believes too many athletes believe that more is better and end up injured or burned out. Every athlete has strengths and weaknesses, and one of Jimmy's goals is to exploit the strengths and improve the weaknesses in every single client.
Not only has Jimmy been published in Self Magazine, but he has also contributed and consulted on several endurance panels throughout the years.
A constant in the local racing scene, he has served as co-director, sponsor, course marshal, and consultant.
If you're looking for a coach who understands the demands of training, who is always looking out for the athletes, and who can take your running to the next level, then contact Coach Jimmy Balmer.
