I still have a hard time calling my self a runner, but because of Chris, I guess I am a runner now.
I am a soccer player that took up running because my knees wouldn’t let me play soccer anymore. I played soccer in college at both the NAIA and NCCAA Div I levels. At the age of 34 in Dec. 2010, I decided I would run a marathon, only one problem…the most I had ever ran was 6 miles. Once I made that decision my first phone call was to Coach Chris. He gave me basic instructions on ramping up mileage until about July 2011, at that point we started really training for my goal race which was the White Rock Marathon in Dallas in Dec. 2011. My goal was to finish the marathon in under 4 hours, which I did. No way this happens without the training from Chris.
I completed the White Rock Marathon and then less than 3 months later ran The Woodlands Marathon.
Because of Coach Chris in a period of 15 months I went from a non-runner to having completed 2 Full Marathons, 3 Half Marathons, and several other shorter races.
